Review: Rexing H1 Blackhawk Night Vision Trail Camera

Rexing H1 Blackhawk Night Vision Trail Camera

In this day and age, you would be hard pressed to find a hunter that does not use some type of device to keep an eye on their hunting land. After all, a hunter spends countless hours preparing for the inevitable moment where they will get to pull the trigger on the perfect game animal. If a hunter takes the time to prep their hunting land, purchase the necessary gear, and practice their aim, they would most likely feel that all of those things would be useless without the proper surveillance of their hunting land! Meet the Rexing H1 Blackhawk Night Vision Trail Camera! This game camera may not have all of the bells and whistles that a cellular camera has, but for the price, it packs a major punch in keeping the hunter informed on what is crossing their hunting plots! Up until I purchased this camera, I used another brand that only snapped photos of the animals. If that sounds like you, it is time for an upgrade!

My Honest Opinion

After using the Rexing H1 Blackhawk Trail Camera for several weeks, I am thrilled with the performance of this product. It is one of the most feature packed, affordable trail cameras I have come across on the market. I feel like there are several key points that need to be looked at if you are on the fence about buying this product.

First of all, my favorite feature is the video and audio recording. Up until this point, all the trail cameras I owned have been limited to taking pictures. This camera totally blows away the competition in respect to the video recording. With full 1080p recording, no detail is missed! Another added bonus is the audio recording. It was really cool to hear some of the sounds from the environment and to hear the deer stomping when they were unsure of their surroundings.

The next feature I would like to highlight is the dual PIR sensor locations. This trail camera has a PIR sensor facing forward and two more sensors facing the sides. All in all, it provides a 120° field for the camera to trigger when it detects motion. In the camera settings, you can actually turn off PIR sensors if you would like. This can provide a more custom trigger behavior for the camera. I found the side PIR sensors to be great for triggering video recording as the animal was walking up towards the camera.

This game camera even has a built-in 2″ LCD screen for adjusting the settings of the camera as well as viewing captured content. How is that even possible with a $59.00 price tag? I felt like that was an amazing added bonus that really puts this camera over the top.

The only thing I found on this camera that was below average was actually the photo capture. While the camera took great photos the majority of the time, there were times where the image taken by the camera would be solid white. I have no clue what the triggered the camera because the photo was such poor quality that I could not see anything. I feel like this was a small price to pay, giving that I will be primarily using the video recording feature of this game camera anyway. This camera also lacks cellular communication. That is great for people who may not want to pay a monthly payment for cellular transmission, but some people may find this a major inconvenience. If you are the hunter that likes to make rounds through your property while checking your camera footage, then this camera is for you!
